Sunday, November 10: “Missa Solennelle”
This will be One to Remember!
Hear the choral masterwork for Two Organs and Choir,
“Missa Solennelle” (Solemn Mass) in c-sharp minor, Op. 16 by Louis Vierne,
on Sunday, November 10th at 3:00 p.m at the Downtown Site of
First English Lutheran Church in Appleton, WI.
Erich Knapp, FELC's Director of Congregational Worship and Music, will conduct the Parish Choir together with members of the Fox Cities community and organists Jeffrey Verkuilen of Green Bay and Frank Perko III of Denver. In addition to Vierne's "Missa Solennelle," you'll also hear the Easter motet “Christ Rose from the Dead” by Charles-Marie Widor -- another work written for choir and two organs.
This may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hear both of these works performed in the same concert, as intended. This event is free for all to attend or to enjoy online, and is supported by audience donations. FELC's Downtown Site is located at 326 E North Street in Appleton.
